“Turnus after benefits to Poland” is simply a slogan that has been circulating on Polish social media for respective days. Supposedly Ukrainians collect benefits from ZUS during day trips to our country. As any netizens claim, these are organized trips which are included in the offer of Ukrainian carriers. The evidence of this is to be an online photograph of an announcement that is intended to encourage specified trips.

Thesis:
Ukrainians take part in one-day tours to Poland, during which they collect benefits from ZUS.
Our evaluation:

“Turnus after benefits to Poland” — analysis

The first indication that we may gotta deal with an effort to infection the Polish infosphere by the Kremlowski apart influence is the fact that Polish and Russian accounts share the same content simultaneously. The only difference is their translation into a given language. In both cases, it is the profiles replicating Russian propaganda that make these narratives available in social media first.

The next step will be to look at the photograph itself. What immediately draws attention is the deficiency of any contact details on the announcement. It is not known which company advertises its services in this way. It seems that the photograph was taken in the coach and could be the offer of the carrier who owns the vehicle, whose interior we see in the photograph. However, the search of the Ukrainian network does not give us any results to confirm that anyone actually organises specified trips.

The announcement itself contains very small content. The information we find on it is:

  • the starting city and destination of the journey;
  • conditions of passage;
  • the intent of the departure;
  • providing legal assistance.

However, the final nail to the coffin of the above communicative is the fact that it is simply impossible to get benefits during 1 day in Poland.

One-day benefit turnus — ZUS denies

Contrary to the suggestions we will find on social media, it is impossible for specified trips to have any effect. How transmitted spokesperson for the Social Insurance Institution, Paweł Żebrowski:

There is no one-day tourism for receiving benefits from Poland. ZUS has tools to see if the individual who applied has the right to do so. The plant will not grant funds to Ukrainian citizens who came to Poland for 1 day.

ZUS resists on updated data from Border Guard. As shortly as a Ukrainian citizen leaves Poland, his service is immediately suspended. If a individual returns to our country within 30 days, the benefit will be reinstated, but this requires appropriate papers and notification of this fact to the Border Guard. Otherwise, he loses his right.

The situation in reality is other to the narratives reproduced on social media. Since October 2022, ZUS has sealed its system, resulting in the suspension of payments to thousands of Ukrainians. We wrote about it in our articles. Here. and Here.. Citizens of Ukraine file complaints to the Ombudsman for taking their benefits besides quickly. Therefore, information about the highly easy way to receive a benefit in Poland should be inserted between fairy tales.

Summary

Once again, Russian propaganda tries to strengthen divisions between Ukrainians and Poles. This time, the communicative created by prokremlian social media accounts suggested that Ukrainian citizens organize day trips to Poland to receive benefits. In fact, it is not possible to get the right to benefits in Poland. ZUS closely monitors the arrivals and departures of Ukrainian citizens from and to Poland and immediately suspends payment of benefits in the event of leaving our country.
