Two consecutive 7.7 and 7.6 magnitude earthquakes on the Richter scale, which occurred on 6 February in the Turkish state of Kahramanmaraş, were felt by 13 million people in 10 confederate provinces of the country. It is already known that this was the most powerful natural disaster in Turkey. Hundreds of aftershocks knocked over buildings along a 250-mile strip in the south of the country, destroying thousands of structures and causing billions of dollars of damage. The losses for the economy there are over $80 billion.
