Turkey and the US set a fresh course for the future of Syria

During a groundbreaking gathering that signals a deep policy recalibration in the mediate East, Turkey and the United States decided to renew their cooperation on the future of Syria. On 20 May in Washington, the last circular of the Turkey-US Syrian Working Group meetings highlighted common priorities: regional stability, the fight against terrorism, the return of displaced Syrians and the abolition of the country's paralysing sanctions.
