In the heart of Beskid Śląski there is simply a presidential residence with a unique history. The castle in Wisla is simply a gift to the people of Silesia. Although present the object is seen mainly as the authoritative residence of the president of Poland, it has roots embedded in the past of the Second Republic. He survived stormy times, and his restoration is proof of the continuity of statehood and respect for national heritage.
The past of the castle in Wisla reaches The late 1920s and late 1930s. According to the authoritative service of the President's Chancellery, its construction began in 1929 and ended a year later. Contrary to appearances, the castle was not financed by the state budget. Its construction was possible thanks to the self-sacrifice of the inhabitants of the Silesian Voivodeship.

Tabout them, in a patriotic motion and symbolic support for the reborn state, donated funds for the creation of a typical seat for the head of state. The object was given to president Ignacy Mościcki as a gift of "Silesian people for the Republic".
President's residence in Wisla. Exceptional location and architecture
The residence is located on the steep slope of Zadnią Grony in Wisle-Black. The area with views of the Vistula Valley is 1 of the most beautiful places in Beskid Śląski.

The castle was designed by the distinguished architect Adolf Szyszko-Bohusz, known for his conservation work in Wawel. As the National Heritage Institute notes, the castle is an example of modernist style, in which the influences of regional architecture can be seen. Thanks to this, the building harmoniously fits into the scenery and inactive delights visitors with its unbane form.
War, fire and post-war residence fate
The idyllic past of the castle did not last long. In 1940, as a consequence of the fire, most of the roof and interior burned down. The Germans rebuilt it, but not in its first shape. The building served as the residence of Hans Frank - the general politician of occupied Polish lands.

After the war, the castle was taken over by the Polish United Workers' Party, which utilized it as a hotel for organization dignitaries. As a result, the first nature of the residence was severely blurred, and the object itself gradually fell into ruin.
Renovation and return to old glory
Only between 2002 and 2005 the castle passed major renovation on the initiative of the Chancellery of the president of Poland. The preservation works restored his first appearance, and the residence again became a typical place, ready to welcome not only the presidents of Poland, but besides abroad guests.
Currently Castle in Wisla serves as official vacation residence president of the Republic of Poland. There are besides working meetings and events of a state nature. 1 of the last was the December summit of the Visegrad Group. Presidents of the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary went to the castle.

The complex in Wiśle-Czarne includes not only the alleged advanced Castle, but besides the Lower Castle, which houses the Conference Centre and the historical gajówka, which is present an exhibition element.

Part of the object is accessible to visitors. You can see, among others, permanent exhibitions devoted to the past of the residence and first equipment reproduced on the basis of archival photographs and descriptions. It is simply a place of education, memory and meetings with the surviving past of the Second Polish Republic.
