Szymon Holownia reported on social media that his organization had adopted the decision of the PSL ultimate Council to end cooperation within the 3rd Way with knowing and gratitude. He stressed that both sides had fulfilled the common arrangements for 4 successive elections. He besides highlighted the importance of loyalty and trust in politics.
The leader of Poland 2050 announced the convening of the National organization Council for 28 June. During the meeting, the desire for further cooperation within the governing coalition and readiness to participate independently in subsequent elections is to be confirmed.
Once again, we will reaffirm our determination to cooperate constructively with our partners in the fight for “renewal” of companies, truly public media, inexpensive and accessible housing, digital safety of our children – informed Hołównia.
PSL deficiency of resolution
However, politicians of the Polish People's organization in the conversation with PAP stressed that no formal resolution concerning the completion of the 3rd Way task was adopted. Nevertheless, they pointed out that there was a debate during the gathering on the group's readiness to launch itself in future elections.
The leader of the Polish People's organization Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz pointed out that cooperation with Poland 2050 was a key component in allowing the PiS to be removed from power after the 2023 parliamentary elections. As he stated:
First, the 3rd Road won the election in 2023. If it weren't for our alliance, we wouldn't have taken the PiS distant from power. That's why this is simply a successful project.
The PSL president stressed that the coalition with Poland 2050 had been temporary and was an election task from the beginning, and both parties retained their separateness, creating separate parliamentary clubs. He besides said that the decision to terminate the cooperation was agreed, but the way it was announced was different from erstwhile findings. A joint communication was planned after an interior discussion, but due to the number of participants it was hard to keep full discretion.
The PSL leader besides pointed out that despite the formal end of the 3rd Way, there was no individual or political conflict between the groups and cooperation within the governing coalition would continue.
A standalone start
Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz has already announced that PSL is preparing to participate independently in the upcoming elections, which was besides the subject of the last interior talks of the party. He stressed that the group had its own potential, values and projects that it intended to implement consistently.
Referring to possible chances of entering the Sejm in the event of a separate start of both parties, the leader of PSL explained that the decisions and strategies of Poland 2050 were on their side, while the PSL remained a unchangeable component of the Polish political scene since the beginning of the democratic transformation.
