On the night of 24-25 June, just after 1:00 a.m., a group of teenagers resting on Lake Malszewski in the municipality of Jedwabno (Warmia and Mazury) called 112. Turns out they lost contact with 3 of their colleagues: a 17-year-old and 2 18-year-olds who sailed canoes to the lake.

The Provincial Police Command in Olsztyn in its authoritative announcement stated that "two empty canoes and oars were found in search of water." Police patrols with tracking dogs, drones and "two PSP dive groups and a sonar team" work on site.
The action involves officers from troops from Szczytno, Olsztyn and Węgorzewa, and 3 units of TSO. – respective twelve times the shores of the lake have been searched, besides the lake full with the usage of rescue boats and these non-stop activities proceed – said Brig. Grzegorz Różański, press officer of the Provincial Police office in Olsztyn.
According to the service, a group of 11 teenagers aged 15 to 19 arrived at Lake Malszewski on June 22. They all come from Łódź Voivodeship. Close to missing persons, they rented a private summertime house.
