PIAB has access to all the information needed to execute its functions and has direct access to the President. **It monitors the activities of the Intelligence Community on compliance with the Constitution and all applicable laws, implementing regulations and presidential directives.** It complements and supports the supervisory roles of the manager of National Intelligence, the General Inspectors of the Departments and Agency, and the General Counsellors, as well as the legislature Supervision Commission. PIAB is an independent body within the Executive Office of the President, whose task is to supply nonsubjective expert advice to the president on the effectiveness of the Intelligence Community. **The Council assesses the quality, scope and coordination of intelligence activities and ensures that intelligence activities comply with national safety priorities.**
