On the another hand, the absence of Ukrainian representatives is noticeable, despite Kiev's calls and his European allies to participate in the talks. Trump noted, however, that his goal is to bring about a tripartite gathering with the Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenski.
The US has suspended sanctions on Russia
As we wrote in NaTemat.pl, according to NBC station, the US Treasury Department issued a temporary licence abolishing a narrow scope of sanctions to let Russia to carry out the essential financial transactions related to the Alaska summit.
It is only about the actions essential to organise the summit. The licence does not include unlocking any frozen property under sanctions imposed after the invasion of Ukraine or another transactions not straight related to the meeting.
This limited suspension applies until 20 August.
