On the U.S. State Department website, a message by press secretary Tammy Bruce was published. It reads:
"State Secretary Marco Rubio spoke to Russian abroad Minister Sergei Lavrow today. The secretary gave his Russian counterpart the same message that the U.S. squad has given to the Ukrainian delegation and our European allies in Paris: president Trump and the United States want to end this war and have now presented to all parties an outline of lasting and lasting peace."
And it added, "Peace is possible if all parties commit to reaching an agreement."
Rubio spoke to Lavrow after gathering in Paris
The Paris talks included, among others, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and peculiar Envoy of U.S. president to the mediate East Steve Witkoff. They were besides accompanied by Keith Kellogg, an MP for Ukraine. During the day there were a number of meetings attended by representatives of the USA, France, large Britain, Germany and Ukraine.
There was besides a gathering of Rubio and Witkoff with French president Emmanuel Macron. The French abroad Minister Jean-Noël Barrot was besides present.
The Russian Ministry of abroad Affairs besides confirmed Rubio's conversation with Lavrow. According to the agency Reuters, the ministry's message states that the U.S. Secretary of State presented the results of talks held in Paris between the American delegation and representatives of Europe and Ukraine.
"The Secretary of State who stayed in Paris informed about the talks he and peculiar Envoy of the president of the United States Steve Witkoff had held there with representatives of Ukraine, France and a number of another European countries," the Communication stated.
The president of Ukraine besides published a message on this issue. "Both sides had a constructive and affirmative discussion on the paths to complete ceasefire and on the further process of achieving a comprehensive, just and lasting peace," we read.
The message emphasized that Ukraine remains committed to peace efforts together with its US and European partners, pointing out that "total ceasefire is crucial".
