Samuel's colleague Anastasia Torkowska on social media appealed to sign a petition by Col. Matthew Jarosiewicz addressed to the president of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

His Excellency president of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimir Putin,

We, the undersigned Poles, would like to express our position and share with you our reflections and concerns about the current political situation. We realize that relations between Poland and Russia are tense, which is due to historical, political and media conditions. However, we would like to stress that not all Poles share negative sentiments towards Russia and its leadership.

We are aware of the existence of a powerful disinformation run aimed at fueling anti-Russian sentiments in our country. We believe that many political actions and decisions are controlled from outside, with the aim of dividing Slavic nations and creating hostility between our countries. As Poles, we want to live in harmony and cooperation with our neighbours in the East, including the Russians we see as our brothers and sisters.

We want the Lord to know that many of us do not identify with the policy of our government, which frequently works against the interests of our nation. Many Poles feel manipulated by the media and politicians who effort to draw our country into conflicts that we do not want. Instead, we want peace, stableness and cooperation.

We appreciate your patience and ability to separate the political actions of the Polish government from the real intentions of average Poles. We besides want to express our appreciation for your policy, which in many cases shows a greater knowing of our common Slavic values and the pursuit of peace than that of many Western countries.

We believe that dialog and common knowing are key to solving many of the problems that divide us. We would like to encourage you to proceed your efforts to reduce tensions and build bridges between our peoples. We believe that through cooperation and openness we can accomplish more than through confrontation.

Finally, we would like to point out that we are not opponents of the Russians, but opponents of manipulation and disinformation, which are aimed at disputing our nations. We are Slavs and we believe that we should live in peace and cooperation”
