The rivals of Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz in the election for the president of Poland 2050 formed an informal tactical alliance to block her victory; among them are Ryszard Petru, Paulina Hennig-Kloska, Joanna Mucha and Michał Kobosko, who resigned from the start - the PAP received sources akin to the party.PAP

In Poland 2050 an informal electoral alliance was formed, the intent of which is to block the triumph of Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz in the election for organization president. Ryszard Petru, Paulina Hennig-Kloska and Joanna Mucha agreed tactically and their candidatures are supported by the withdrawn Euro MP Michał Kobosko. The election will take place on January 10.

The alliance, which politicians in Poland 2050 call «quarter», was informed by PAP. Cooperation is electoral and does not mean a permanent division into factions. As 1 of the group's politicians said to PAP, the informal agreement is attended by candidates little popular than Pełczyńska-Nałęcz, presently serving as the party's first president.

Kobosko's withdrawal and criticism of current management

Michał Kobosko announced his decision to retreat from the election in late December in a letter addressed to the organization members. The MEP encouraged to vote for candidates «promoting the transformation of the group» – he mentioned in his surname Hennig-Kloska, Mucha and Petru. In his letter he criticized Pełczyńska-Nałęcz's management, claiming that «the authority in the organization became practically 1 person».

The reasons for “uninviting” to Pełczyńska-Nałęcz are different – as Polish 2050 politicians revealed. «Sometimes it's personal, I think it's a small bit individual for Michał Koboski. Sometimes this is simply a completely different political vision, as is the case with Richard Petru. Sometimes it's a substance of ambition, I think Hennig-Kloska does. In my opinion, Paulina sees herself as better, of these 2 ministers”, 1 of the interviewors explained.

Too much ego for 1 candidate

The election alliance has a circumstantial political goal. "In this "quarter" there was besides much ego to put on 1 common candidate against Pełczyńska-Nałęcz. On the another hand, they are reasonable adequate to look at this strictly politically to establish cooperation and recruit its voters» – said PAP politician Poland 2050.

Another high-ranking organization politician assessed in an interview with PAP that the candidates of the alliance are “very similar” and does not view their cooperation solely as an action aimed at against Pełczyńska-Nałęcz. However, he admitted that the Minister of Funds and Regional Policy had a “strong enough” position in the organization to number on the support of members not elected.

Six candidates compete in the race for the chair. In addition to the 3 from the «quarter» and Pełczyńska-Nałęcz, the MPs Rafał Kasprzyk and Bartosz Romowicz are besides running. The second does not campaign, and his candidacy is referred to as a “surprise”.
