Tomasz Wybrałowski – Day of Memory of Poles – victims of genocide by the CNS-UPA at the east Borders of the Second Republic of Poland
I'll start a different way. Personally, due to the fact that it's not just a communicative for me. I am marked for always by genocide committed by Ukrainian bandits and robbers.
My peculiar uncle – priest Błażej Nowosad, was brutally murdered by banders (members of the revolutionary faction of the Ukrainian Nationalist Organization; colloquial: the word Ukrainians who participated in the genocide of Poles in Volyn and in east Małopolska and executed anti-Jewish pogroms). The execution was done for being a Pole. For being a priest. For not leaving his people. This is what “the Ukraine of Dreams” looked like – full of contempt, hatred and knives in the back.
Did the Sejm change the name of the day of memory of the victims?
Now the Sejm of the Republic of Poland changes the name “National Day of Memory of Victims of Genocide made by Ukrainian Nationalists” to “Day of Memory of Poles – Victims of Genocide made by OUN-UPA at the east Borders of the Second Republic of Poland” and tries to wrap the fact in cotton. Who's behind this? Who made those stupid, disgraceful changes? Who was insolent or naive adequate to effort to blur the work of Ukrainian nationalists? After all, the earlier name stated explicitly: "National Day of Memory of Victims of Genocide made by Ukrainian nationalists on citizens of the Second Republic of Poland". Now we have any kind of linguistic cough, an effort to disarm a burden of truth. So I ask you for the second time, who did it and why?
I don't know the authors of this change. I don't know the stage. But I know the facts. And I justice this change unequivocally: it's scandal, shame and lies to history. First of all, we're witnessing a narrow ellipse of perpetrators.
Did Poles only execution OUN-UPA gangs?
Not only the savage OUN-UPA (Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists formed the armor of the Ukrainian Pows dance Army) murdered Poles. SS-Galizien (14th Division of Grenadiers Waffen SS, SS “Halyczyna” – a military unit formed in the spring of 1943 by Germans from Ukrainian volunteers), a regular Ukrainian collaboration unit that swore allegiance to Adolf Hitler, the same leader of the 3rd Crowd that caused the planet War, attacked half of European countries, liable for mass genocides and death camps. An example? Pieniacka Huta – almost 1,000 victims, civilian MANY BED LIVES. And dozens of another Ukrainian collaboration formations in the service of the 3rd Reich. That was SYSTEMical genocide, not “self-defense” and “the mistake of history”.
Secondly, there is besides a narrowing of the victim's circle. Poles were not the only victims of Ukrainian integral nationalism. Jews, Armenians, Czechs, Gypsies, Russians, Ukrainians who helped Poles were besides murdered.
And thirdly, we cannot narrow down the geographical scope of the Ukrainians' "free movement" during planet War II. The OUN-UPA operated not only on the alleged "East Countries of the Second Republic of Poland", but besides after the war – in the south-eastern areas of today's Poland: Bieszczady, Lublin, Małopolska. There, too. Ukrainian bandits murdered Poles for being Poles. "Kresy" is not enough. It's falsifying the panic range.
What about the Belarusian and Lithuanian criminals?
Now that we're at "Kresy", it's worth remembering: 30. SS Grenadier Division (Belarusian) and – Lithuanian shaulisi – murderers from Ponar, Ejjszek and fresh Saints. 94.000 victims. Most Jews, but besides Poles. So what? due to the fact that it's uncomfortable? due to the fact that it doesn't fit the current policy?
Meanwhile, from Kiev – the capital of Ukraine flows... request to retreat from the bill. The Ukrainian Ministry of abroad Affairs has the nerve to say that this is simply a "one-sided step that reconciles good relations" that means the Republic of Poland is to stay silent due to the fact that individual in Ukraine may be offended? I'll be damned if I always applaud those who want to sweep distant the fact about crimes. Ukraine does not want us to honor the memory of the massacre in Volyn due to the fact that it does not fit their historical policy? Yeah. Memory is more crucial than any "good relationship".
Where's the Perejaslav settlement in all this?
It continues to amaze me how completely the foundations of today’s situation are silenced. Let's look back. Here in 1654 Bohdan Chmielnicki signed a treaty with the Tsar of Russia, giving back Ukraine to Moscow. Voluntary. Betraying Poland. In exchange for property for Cossack elders, the remainder of the population was sold like cattle.
Who is Ukraine's national hero today?
Currently, the national hero is Bohdan Bohmielnicki.Yes, the same 1 who ordered after the conflict of Batoh to slaughter above 20,000 Polish prisoners. The monument of Bohdan Chmielnicki stands present in the center of Kiev. Since the Czarski era, through the Communist Union of Socialist russian Republics, to the flag. This is simply a symbol of the Ukrainians. And it says everything.
Who doesn't know the story? Who gives up on her? It's his business. However, we must not force Poles to renounce it.
If individual wanted to realize why the Russian Federation considers Ukraine to be its territory, why Crimea was affected, why Moscow Church inactive has influence there – let him remember the date: 18 January 1654. That's where all this hell started.
Today, alternatively of making it clear about victims and executioners being called by name, everything is blurry in a sauce of “mutual understanding”, “dialogue”, “unity against Russia”. And I say, "No! You can't! There can be no consent to selective memory. False compromises.
Because I, like thousands of another Poles, am marked forever. Marked by the blood of Father Błaży Nowosad. Marked by the crimes they want to blur today. Marked by a memory I will not pay for any "international relations".
