Several twelve soldiers began classes on Monday preparing for usage and handling Abrams tanks in the latest version of M1A2SEPv3. This is the first specified class at Abrams Academy, which has been operating at the Poznań Center for the Training of Land Forces for almost 2 years. The courses are designed for both crews (OPNET) and tank maintenance specialists (FMNET). The classes are attended by soldiers who have already completed training on Abrams tanks, only that older version M1A2SEPv2. Among them are soldiers from 1st Warsaw Armored Brigade, instructors with Centre for the Training of Land Forces and officers from the Academy of Land Forces. It'll take six weeks to get to class. Their program will be akin to erstwhile trainings, although more condensed. The students have already made it. Meet Abrams. Now it's about getting acquainted with the differences between the 2 versions of the tank – explains Colonel Maciej Łukarski, commander of the CSWL combat vehicle battalion. These include, inter alia, elements of the fire control strategy or upgraded components of basic tank systems, including the propulsion unit. “In general, the construction of the wagons is similar, but any improvements have been made in each compartment,” says Lukarski, but – as he adds – who completed the erstwhile course should have no difficulty absorbing fresh ones.
Abrams Academy It began operations in the summertime of 2022. The classes were then conducted on the basis of SEPv2 tanks, brought straight from the US. respective 100 Polish soldiers passed these classes. late the "twos" have returned to the ocean. For us it was a bridge solution. It was to supply equipment until the arrival in Poland ordered by the Ministry of defence of Abrams in the version SEPv3 – admits Colonel Łukarski. The first threes reached the country in January. Abrams – a full of 28 machines – arrived in Gdynia aboard an American ship. shortly they were besides directed to Military Motorization Plants. – Tanks will be utilized during training, and then together with soldiers of the 1st Warsaw Armored Brigade will go to Wejoła. Another batch of vehicles will arrive in their place – said Colonel Lukarski. Eventually, CSWL will have its own Abrams. – Thanks to them, our instructors will be given the chance to conduct courses completely alone. This will happen after the end of the business Abrams Academy, i.e. at the turn of 2026 and 2027," noted the officer. Inaugurated on March 3, 2025, the courses will be conducted by instructors from the United States. Poles will assist them.

Abrams is considered to be 1 of the most modern tanks in the world.
