Three Airlines Eyes fresh Flights to the Most Beautiful Island in Asia

DENPASAR– Indonesia’s Ministry of Tourism has confirmed that three international airlines are planning to launch new direct flights to Bali (DPS), Asia’s most celebrated island destination.

TUI Airways (BY) from South Korea, Jetstar Australia (JQ) from Newcastle (NTL), and an unnamed Chinese carrier from Sichuan are in talks to begin operations, signaling renewed global interest in Bali as a premier leisure hub.

According to Yulia, Assistant Deputy for Foreign Tourism Marketing II, the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism has engaged with three airlines regarding possible nonstop services to Bali (DPS).

The anticipated routes include TUI Airways (BY) from an unnamed city in South Korea, Jetstar Australia (JQ) from Newcastle (NTL), and an undisclosed airline planning flights from Sichuan, China.

These routes are intended to serve the increasing travel demand to the island and support Indonesia’s broader tourism growth strategy.

Although specific launch dates have not been disclosed, these routes are expected to contribute significantly to Indonesia’s target of 14–16 million international tourist arrivals in 2025.

In 2024, Bali alone recorded 6.3 million foreign visitors, surpassing its pre-pandemic highs. The 2025 goal is set slightly higher, at 6.5 million.
