
The College of EU Commissioners met in Gdańsk in connection with the Polish Presidency of the EU Council. On Thursday 6 February Ursula von der Leyen arrived in our country, welcomed by Donald Tusk. The president of the European Commission besides met with the Polish Prime Minister on Friday to visit, among others, the European Solidarity Centre. Due to the presence of von der Leyen NSZZ, “Solidarity” organised a protest against Green Deal.

The head of “Solidarity” Peter Duda called the Green Deal “infestion” and argued that its effects would affect each of us. He added that climate policy is business. It has nothing to do with environmental protection. This is the fight against the Polish economy and worker, due to the fact that we are working hard and becoming increasingly competitive, especially towards the German economy, which is why they want to plow us, and we will not let it," stressed the head of “Solidarity”.
Piotr Duda noted that they were "at the end of collecting signatures for the Green Deal referendum". Come to us, who's for who? We are here due to the fact that we are your breadmakers, we keep you from our taxes, not you from us. Are you that brave? Don't bet on the police cordon, just come here on phase and tell the Poles that the Green Deal will be thrown into the trash," said the chief of “Solidarity”.

Peter Duda called on Tusk to “retreat from the Green Deal not only in words but besides in deeds.” Then the representatives of individual industries spoke. 1 of them was the typical of the NSZZ “Solidarity” of Individual Farmers, who encouraged everyone to begin chanting, “Get out of Ursula”. “Because all Poles are 1 family, apart from the redhead...” sang singer-soldier Zbigniew Stefański.
