Prime Minister Donald Tusk confirmed that he would ask the Sejm to give a vote of assurance to his cabinet. "The first test will be a vote of confidence, which I will address the Sejm soon," said the Prime Minister in a peculiar message on Monday evening.

During a peculiar speech on Monday evening, Prime Minister Donald Tusk referred to the results of the presidential election, congratulating Karol Nawrock on his victory.

– The presidential election is behind us. It's been a while since there's been so much emotion. I would like to thank all of you very much for your participation in the vote. Over 20 million Poles elected the fresh president of the Republic of Poland, showing their strong commitment to democracy and its key principle, namely free and universal elections," said Tusk.

– In accordance with the constitution and our conscience, we will work with the fresh president wherever essential and possible. I realize it could be harder than many of you thought erstwhile you went to vote yesterday. But it does not change the least of my determination and will to act in defence of all that we believe together. The contingency plan, assuming a hard cohabitation, is prepared – notes.

Tusk announces a vote of assurance for the government

Prime Minister Donald Tusk confirmed media reports – on Monday he announced that he would apply for a vote of assurance for his cabinet.

– This plan will require unity and courage from the full Coalition on October 15. The first test will be a vote of assurance for which I will address the Sejm shortly.I want everyone to see, including our opponents, at home and abroad, that we are ready for this situation, that we realize the seriousness of the moment, but that we are not going back a step said the Prime Minister of Poland.
