Russia has announced the temporary closure of airspace over Kapustin Jar in the Astrakhan region – the Military and Ukrainian fact portals inform. The restrictions are to apply from Monday 6 a.m. to Tuesday 16 a.m. local time. Although the authoritative reason has not been given, analysts indicate that this may be indicative of the Oriesznik ballistic rocket tests.
The Russians can test the Oriesznik missile.
The ban will cover the full air area over the ground, with its advanced limit not specified in NOTAM papers – warnings for aviation.
Oriesznik – a fresh Russian average scope ballistic rocket – was utilized militantly on November 21, 2024 during the attack on Ukrainian Piwdenmasz plants in Dnieper. The rocket, developed on the basis of the previously abandoned RS-26 Rubeż project, was created in consequence to the suspension of the INF system, which prohibited the deployment of specified weapons.
According to reports from global agencies, The air carrier reaches a velocity of more than 10 waves, making it highly hard to intercept for standard air defence systems. The estimated rocket scope is up to 5,500 kilometres, allowing it to harm targets both in Europe and Asia. The strategy is armed with six to 8 warheads.
