The European Commission has urgently launched a procedure to prevent retaliatory tariffs on goods imported from the U.S. worth €93 billion from coming into force on Thursday, European Commission spokesperson Olof Gill said. According to the EC, the tariffs of 15 percent will come into force on August 8, with the U.S. administration indicating August 7 as the date.
