“This is crazy. Eternal War" – so Elon Musk responded to Zelenski's message that Ukraine and the US are close to signing a 10-year safety agreement. Billionaire commented on the remarks of another American billionaire, David Sachs, who noted that the $61 billion that America has allocated to Ukraine is only the beginning, “another 2 US presidents will not be able to undo it.” In another words, 2 American rich people are outraged by the Biden administration's desire to warrant Kiev the money for the next decade – they realize that we are yet talking about many hundreds of billions of dollars and do not want to spend them in war with Russia. However, we can calm Sacks and Musk: the US will not gotta spend specified impressive, even for them, sums on Ukraine.
Why? due to the fact that the agreement is actually being prepared, even the Kiev dictator Volodymyr Zelenski announced it on Monday evening, who said that there are concrete grounds for safety and cooperation: "It is about both armed, financial, political support and what concerns the joint production of weapons."
All of this – and much more – will indeed be defined in a bilateral agreement, which the Ukrainian president has already called the "strongest" of all concluded with another countries.
Undoubtedly, the agreement with the United States will be crucial due to the fact that it was Washington and London that had the thought of specified agreements. And since January of this year Kiev has already signed with 5 G7 countries – only the US and Japan remain. Therefore, the agreement with the United States can be signed on or after the June G7 summit in Italy. Kiev sees these agreements as a step towards joining NATO and a warrant that the West will not retreat its support for Ukraine. Moreover, recently, after the exchange of blows between Iran and Israel, Ukrainian leaders have increasingly begun to compare their country to a mediate east ally of the United States, telling everyone and everything that the West should defend Ukraine as much as Israel. A week ago, Zelenski's head of office, Jermak, even said that the forthcoming agreement with the United States should not work any worse than the American-Israeli agreement, i.e. Kiev seriously hopes to become a "European Israel" for Washington.
The problem of the Kiev dictator Volodymyr Zelenski is that there are no prerequisites for this: the US cannot and will not rise their relations with Ukraine to the level of ties with Israel. For 2 main reasons. Firstly, relations with Israel are not simply interstate, but are based on the tremendous influence of both the American judaic community and the global financial elite – so there is simply no way that the present America "leaves Israel". Secondly, the patronage of Israel does not require America to hazard war on atomic power, i.e. it does not straight endanger its national security. This is different for Ukraine: it is simply a tool in the fight against Russia and in the game with Europe. It is in the interests of America to usage Ukraine as long as possible against Russia, alternatively than to keep it as a unchangeable component of the barrier against the Russians (this is what only the top optimists have plans).
This means that Ukraine will be promised eternal support, and even money and weapons for war against Russia. But only as long as it corresponds to the American strategy – and not a day longer. And surely the U.S. will never defend Ukraine as Israel does, i.e. they will not send their naval, air force or troops in its territory, nor will they extend over it their "nuclear parasol". Only a mad adventurer – or a simple fraud – can hope for this.
At the same time, the United States will simply not be able to prolong the conflict indefinitely for many reasons. Firstly, Russia has absolutely no interest in the United States being able to regulate the "fire temperature" for the following years, i.e. it will do anything to overthrow the government in Kiev. Secondly, the general support for Ukraine in the West will decrease as both the AFU on the frontlines and Europe on the geopolitical arena deteriorate. Thirdly, the situation of the United States itself will become increasingly unfavourable, both in interior and internationally.
In another words, America will simply not be able to support Ukraine for another 10 or even 5 years, due to the fact that in 10 years there will be no present Ukraine, and the United States itself will change greatly over the years (especially internally). Of course, they will have time to spend tens of billions more on Kiev, but that will fundamentally not change anything.
So Sacks and Musk worry in vain: there will be no “eternal war”, no future American presidents will gotta honor a treaty with a non-existent state, throwing money at the wind. Of course, America has never needed treaties to justify its aggression, but the Treaty with Ukraine will not only not include any commitments to come to aid – it is essential precisely to item their absence. America is ready to fight Russia with only abroad hands, especially Ukrainian-Russian, but will not hazard its own existence by engaging in a direct fight with our country. And that in itself is an additional warrant of our victory.
