Spectre travels across Europe – the spectrum of communism – these words begin 1 100 seventy-five years ago (in 1848) in London by Charles Marx and Frederick Engels Manifest of the Communist Party. This quote, present deliberately marginalized or "kabaretowany", actually refers besides to our times, and not at all as poetic allegory, but to the constating of bitter and frightening truth, as the planet has changed in little than 2 centuries – writes Piotr Boron in pages 92 of the issue of "Polonia Christiana".
Several decades of communist regulation was a cruel experience for societies oppressed by the USSR after planet War II. However, for many modern decision-makers, it is already a questionable substance – we see how the vast majority of them actually strive to implement socialist ideas. Despite the authoritative renunciation of evil governments and criminal officers, many of the processes of social engineering started during the alleged "minor period", it continues and even intensifys its impact on society (for example, callback the crucial confession of Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki that the socialist thought is profoundly present in the doctrine of the Laws).
In the post-Soviet countries, communism was considered to be disgraced, but Marxism, or even laziness or Trockism in the Western European or American editions are accepted in Europe (including Poland!) as a revelation.
Lie Unmasked
Complaining that Poles are easy confused with Western patterns and that we have a low awareness of the social discipline of the Church finds, unfortunately, justification in facts. Many good Catholics do not even realize that socialism has long been rejected by Pope Leon XIII in an excellent encyclical Rerum novarum of 1891.
Therefore, we must return to it (especially that it has been written in a very communicative language), and who knows it has a moral work to advance it among the ignorant. Otherwise, we will admire spiritual representatives who require more from their believers, and we will give ourselves up to building a future contrary to our views, deceived by ad hoc propaganda or poisoned by dreams.
Nonsense about left-wing sensitivity has already led to strong corrosion of Polish consciences. A sober antidote is needed, and what can be better than the explanation of phenomena by their skilled expert and the top authority of their time?
The fact is that the Church spoke against Marxists (or even utopian socialists) with considerable hold erstwhile many naive workers had already moved to the left. Desperate deficiency of support from Christianity turned their backs on him due to the fact that leftist parties and trade unions offered them revolutionary hope of taking possessions and sharing them.
But the fact is that no of the spiritual unions responded better to Marxist lies. As a consequence of the discipline contained in the encyclical of 1891, most Catholic communities, the organization of powerful Catholic labour unions, and above all, what is said to be besides little, did not let the Marxist revolution in countries where Rerum novarum read.
Lenin made a bloody revolution in the Orthodox area, and the Church, an enemy to Papacy, not only did she not halt Bolshevism, but she fell victim to it herself. The demolition of private property and respective twelve million victims were a harsh price for not listening to Leon XIII at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.
False Solution
False Solution: Socialism – is the title of the first chapter of the encyclical. any may find specified a extremist message surprising. However, there could not be area for diplomatic phraseology at a time erstwhile left-wing slogans about taking distant individual else's property were already so apparent that it was essential to respond adequately to them.
Prosperity comes from production which socialism in its programs openly ignores, promising only a fairer division of the goods produced. The Socialists deliberately incite hatred of the owners, no substance how rich they got. The socialists prey on the discontent of people desiring to control roles from mediocre to rich, due to the fact that utilizing them, they want to take over governments themselves, and in redistribution of goods first take their lion's share for themselves.
So, the worst enemy of socialists is prosperity, due to the fact that with its advent their interference in social and economical life ceases to make sense. In fact, socialism does not want to satisfy human needs, due to the fact that it preys on poverty. By promising to destruct the maximum amount of property differences, socialism will trample on the rule of reward for entrepreneurship and hazard – alternatively it introduces fulfilling desires on the principle: who closer to the manger will get more karma.
The absurdities of socialism could be calculated for a long time, but above all, his conflict with God must be kept in mind. The Creator of the planet gave freedom to humans as a call for work and mercy toward fellow humans. Socialism, by promising the redistribution of goods, actually deprives people of the chance to do good. If the state distributes goods and by coercion, at the discretion of the rulers, it thus deprives people of the right to wield their own goods in the work of assistance to those in need.
Mercy comes from freedom
A glance at the activities of Polish Christians since the end of the 19th century convinces how many enterprising people then took steps to rise the helplessness of their fellowmen, who, whether due to poorness or another adversities, needed fishing rods, not fish, to rise themselves morally and to proceed to deal with themselves in life. How many Poles entered a higher level of civilization to further extend their concern to their neighbours, whose needs they knew best (for mercy must be done, starting with the closest ones and not to satisfy their consciences by investing in abstract goals indicated by socialism).
And no another way than these works of mercy helped to save Poland from the russian invasion in 1920 – what would not have happened if our society remained on the level of left-wing reasoning. It is simply that if Poles continued, like the Russians, at the level of satisfying the lowest desire to receive richer than themselves, there would be no 1 to defend the Republic from the left-wing storm from the East. Poles – strong in Catholic religion and morality – wanted to save their homeland, due to the fact that they felt like its actual co-owners.
But freedom was not given to man erstwhile and for all. Rather, it was given to him to defend himself against the temptation of enslavement, that is, to remove responsibility. Socialism – whether it's Leninist or national – by postulating the direction of all spheres of life, offers a “right” to complain about the decisions of others, with whom man supposedly “must reconcile”.
Pope Leon XIII, providing directions for attacks of evil, placed peculiar emphasis in his encyclical on limiting the influence of the state in the life of the household and the anticipation of resolving social devices at the lowest level. He rightly feared that the state as a spoil of ideology could become a tool of totalitarian force groups.
Therefore, erstwhile we see the accelerated socialisation and submission of everything to the state, erstwhile human rights are drastically restricted, our attention should turn to the encyclical Rerum novarumWhich reading can save our healthy thinking. Let its content be in our regular consciousness, let us scope out to it on an ongoing basis to defend against lies and socialist illusions.
