Russian safety Service officers of the FSB detained Kushnir in late May for calling for “acts of terror”. The case against him was initiated on the basis of YouTube recordings. Since November 2022, the musician has published 4 films in which he has poetically criticized politics, law and war in Ukraine. The FSB considered these recordings to call for a "brutal overthrow of the constitutional order in Russia". The message against the war was considered a serious crime in Russia after the launch of a full-scale invasion. Many people were imprisoned even for social media entries.
