The Germans are ready to open the drone ground factories. The plants will be built in southwest England.
Before the outbreak of a full-scale war in Ukraine, caused by Putinian Russia, no 1 expected unless drones changed the battlefield so much. Clear, unmanned aircraft have already participated in armed conflicts, but commercial drones have never been utilized on specified a massive scale for direct operations on the front lines. The conflict behind our east border opened the eyes of the unbelievers – we are much closer to discipline fiction screenplays than we think. Only ground robots are missing to support the infantry – but calmly, it is besides a substance of time. European powers are about to begin building them on a large scale.
Germany wants to spend immense money on infantry drone factories
Battle ground robots have been discussed for years, but so far they have been alternatively technological demos, prototypes or visualizations of what actually infantry drones could look like. However, there is no time for further thought, as the world's situation is becoming more and more like a bubbling boiler that can buy at any moment. Therefore, the German startup ARX Robotics decided to lay down as much as £45 million to build tiny ground machines in the UK, resembling miniature tanks.
However, they are only connected to tanks by the fact that they decision on caterpillars. These are not manned vehicles for infantry, but autonomous drones, characterized by multitasking. ARX wants to produce as many as 1800 machines per year – bets will be made in southwest England, although the exact location has not been revealed.
Wide usage of ground drones – from transport to reconnaissance
ARX Robotics does not mention the direct commitment of robots to combat – but this script is surely taken into account, due to the fact that it is possible to mount weapons on them – highlighting their invaluable support from the back. Ground drones can transport injured, carry loads of up to 500 kg, service as a mobile training target, and even service as a launch-transport platform for air drones.
They are distinguished by modular plan and the ability to rapidly replace damaged components without having to usage tools. You can control them with a peculiar tablet or trust artificial intelligence and bet on full autonomy of movement. The ARX Robotics infantry drones have already been tested by the armed forces of Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Hungary and the United Kingdom – 30 robots in the pilot program besides hit Ukraine.
Apparently, stakeholders were satisfied with the tests, due to the fact that as I mentioned at the outset, ARX Robotics wants to deliver 1,800 machines per year. The aim is "to strengthen Europe's resilience through technological sovereignty, scalable autonomy and modernisation of land forces", as Marc Wietfeld, president of ARX himself, stated. For companies specified as ARX Robotics, this is the perfect minute for business development, due to the fact that EU countries have late approved ReArm Europe, which aims to rise up to EUR 800 billion to strengthen the military possible of the Old Continent.
