The gathering with Polish citizens in Legnica brought together about 60 people. The concept of universal primaries was heatedly debated, with most speakers demanding specifics
They asked: how to make primaries committees, what papers (framework agreement, democratic declaration, ordination) are essential for its appointment, who can join them and under what conditions. Many people demanded to make a fresh movement (party?) so that “there would yet be individual to vote for”. They believed that the primaries themselves as a mechanics for the bottom-up and democratic creation of coalitions against the Law and attempts to install dictatorships in Poland were not enough. People request a circumstantial agenda and political leadership.
There was a dominant question about the causative force: since the parties closed down in an oligarchical structure serving mostly themselves, who is able to convince people to engage, to get out of absenteeism, to “kick” themselves in privacy and interior emigration. Paweł Kasprzak explained that the causative force was at the base of the way Polish citizens acted – formulating concrete demands and a persistent fight for their implementation. Kasprzak presented the universal primaries as a logical culmination and continuation of this philosophy.
