There's a prosecutor's decision after Braun's scandalous words

Euro MP Grzegorz Braun on Thursday on Radio Wnet questioned the fact that genocide was being committed in gas chambers in Auschwitz. Editor Łukasz Jankowski interrupted the interview and asked the politician out of the studio after this scandalous statement. The Public Prosecutor's Office is already conducting investigations into the infringement of the IPN Act. The Museum of planet War II in Gdańsk expressed full solidarity with the manager of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum.

During a Thursday interview at Radio Wnet, MEP Grzegorz Braun stated that "Auschwitz with gas chambers is unfortunately a fake". The politician besides added that "the pseudohistoric message which the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum offers is simply a material that does not meet the criteria of a historical-scientific workshop in all details".

Interviewing editor Łukasz Jankowski immediately interrupted the conversation and asked Braun out of the studio after making a scandalous statement. The journalist's reaction was appreciated by museum institutions.

World War II Museum Position

The institution expressed deep concern about "the expanding presence of extremist and disinformation content in public debate, aimed at changing social sentiments". The museum appealed to the respective state institutions for "strong action against attempts to falsify past and spread content that reconciles the fundamental values of democratic society and the memory of the victims of planet War II".

The EPPO shall initiate the proceedings

In connection with Braun's questioning of Nazi crimes in Auschwitz, the prosecution conducts investigations. The case is dealt with by the territory Prosecutor's Office Warsaw Śródmieście, which conducts proceedings to violate Article 55 of the Act on IPN concerning denial of Nazi crimes.

Auschwitz Museum manager Piotr Cywiński stated that the words of Euro MP Grzegorz Braun, in which he denied the existence of gas chambers in Auschwitz, were not only an act pursued by the law of negationism, but besides an insult to the memory of the victims. Braun's words were besides condemned by the Institute of National Memory.
