Al-Shara was accepted by Russian leader Vladimir Putin, who said during his welcome that “for many decades we have always been guided by 1 thing: the interests of the Syrian people. We truly have a very deep relation with the Syrian people."
Putin stressed that more than 4000 young Syrians are presently studying in Russia and hoped that they would strengthen the "Syrian State" in the future.

Al-Shara wants to "redefinition" relations with Moscow
Al-Shara, on the another hand, expressed his desire to "redefinition" relations on the Damascus–Moscow line and besides spoke of "long-standing historical ties" between Syria and Russia and the "common interests" of both countries.
