The first session of the Polish-Ukrainian Youth Debates series began yesterday in the building of the Center for Academic Exchange Ukraine-Poland in Mikuliczyn. The beginning ceremony was attended by the Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of discipline and Higher Education of the Republic of Poland prof. Andrzej Szeptycki and Deputy Minister of Education and discipline of Ukraine Mikhail Wynnycki.

Participants of the discussion are students and young scientists from Polish and Ukrainian universities, including winners of the Jerzy Giedroycia Competition, organized by the Polish Institute in Kiev in cooperation with the survey of east Europe of the University of Warsaw (SEW UW) and the Polish Embassy in Kiev.

The focus of the gathering is on bilateral cooperation prospects and the function of young people in shaping relations between our countries.
In the presence of deputy ministers, representatives of the management of SEW UW and the National University of Przykarpackie. Vasyla Stefanyka (PNU) signed a joint message in which they expressed "a deep conviction of the unique importance of the Observatory's projects on Mount Pop Ivan in the Black horse band and the Center for Academic Exchange Ukraine-Poland in Mikuliczyn for the improvement of Polish-Ukrainian academic and technological cooperation".

PNU Rector Igor Cependa and manager Jan Malicki stressed that the renovation of the erstwhile Observatory of the University of Warsaw, managed by the PNU, as well as the construction of a modern centre in Mikuliczyn, is “not only an expression of concern for the heritage, but besides an investment in the future of cooperation between universities, students and scientists of our countries.”

The Przykarpackie National University of Wasyl Stefanyk is the organizer of both projects, and the east European University of Warsaw is simply a partner of the University of Warsaw.
