And the tour of the presidential elections in Poland was conducted in accordance with the principles of democracy, but there are any reservations – according to a message by the Organisation for safety and Cooperation in Europe. Among another things, it was indicated that there were "inciting and derogatory" messages from any candidates aimed at migrants, LGBT communities and cultural and spiritual groups.

"The first circular of the election of the president of Poland in 2025 was held in a highly diverse political environment, allowing voters to choose from many different political options. At the same time, however, advanced political polarisation has intensified existing social divisions and tensions regarding attempts to strengthen the regulation of law," we read at the beginning of the 24-page OSCE statement.

It was stressed that "the course of the electoral process was assessed as professional, calm and well organized, but the confidentiality of the vote was frequently not respected".

"Inciting and derogatory messages addressed to migrants, LGBTI communities, cultural and spiritual groups, including xenophobic and anti-Ukrainian narratives, appeared in the discourse of any political actors, including run speeches, debates and social networks," we read.

The observers recalled, among others, respective proceedings initiated by the prosecution against candidate Grzegorz Braun, including in connection with public insults and incitement to hatred.
