The Opolska Brigade of the Territorial Defence Army officially received its flag during a ceremony accompanied by an oath of nearly 200 fresh soldiers. The unit presently consists of 2 battalions of light infantry stationed in Opole and the Bank. The mark is about 1.5 1000 soldiers deployed in respective points of the voivodship.
New soldiers joined the ranks of the Opolskie WOT brigade during the ceremonial ceremony of awarding the banner. The unit is systematically expanding its organisational structure in the region.
According to military announcements, another 2 independent companies are to be established in Nysa and Kędzierzyn-Koźle. The improvement will let for better coverage of the full Opole province.
Training for experienced soldiers
According to the unit's command, eight-day trainings are planned in late August. They will be designed for people who already have military experience and an oath made.
After being appointed to the WOT, they will supplement and update their military knowledge. Training aims to adapt skills to the specificity of service in the Territorial Defence Army.
Development of formations across Poland
The Territorial Defence Army began to form in 2016-2018. Their aim, in addition to military actions, is besides to support the population in the framework of the broadly understood civilian defence.
The formation supports society, inter alia, in cases of disasters and natural disasters. The first 3 Territorial Defence Brigades were formed in Podlaskie, Lubline and Podkarpackie voivodships.
Twenty BOTs have been created throughout Poland so far. According to data published on the MON website, the mark number of formations is about 53,000 soldiers.
