On Sunday, April 27, the streets of Warsaw passed the National March of Life, which brought together respective 1000 participants. The march was preceded by Holy Masses for the protection of life celebrated in the Basilica of St John the Baptist's Martyrdom and in the Basilica of St Michael the Archangel and St Florian the Martyr.
This year's slogan “When the heart beats, past happens” referred to the 1000th anniversary of the coronation of King Bolesław Chrobry and the millennium of the Kingdom of Poland. Participants of the event, as all year, demonstrated their attachment to the value of life, family, and besides expressed appreciation for the heritage of Christian Poland.
The historical wonder was accompanied by reflection on current events in our country. Marcin Perłowski, manager of the Center for Life and Family, referred to the words of Saint John Paul II during his speech.
"We are here present to say that the nation will have no future if there are laws in it that will let the killing of the weakest, those who have no voice, to kill unborn children," he said.
Participants from various parts of Poland came to the National March of Life, as well as representatives of Polonia.
“I came here to take sides with children who are sick and disabled, who are killed in abortion, due to the fact that abortion will destruct Poland. In the United States, these defenseless people have not been allowed to be killed recently. We besides have a disabled kid in a close family. His mother, my cousin, in addition to supporting the family, can besides number on aid from the state" - said Sławomir Nowak, who returned to Poland from Washington 4 years ago.
During the event it was emphasized that the consequence to the demographic collapse is to open up to children, due to the fact that they build the future of Poland. There were besides many children’s certificates.
“This is our next March for Life. The first time I was here years ago, in 2011, erstwhile we were expecting the birth of our first child. I became a parent erstwhile I was 21, and we weren't married at the time. Then we went through conversion, we got married, our household began to grow, and only then did we see the meaning and value of the family. Of course, we were besides strengthened by religion and grace, so for us life, family, and march besides flow from these spiritual values. I can say that children are raised differently in a large family, they become socialised more quickly, they learn common relations, they learn responsibility," said Maria, the parent of 7 children.
Participants of the event carried banners with slogans affirming marriage, family, highlighting the dignity of all man and expressing pride in the Polish and Christian heritage of our country. There were besides statements referring to the tragedy in the Oleśnica hospital, where, in the light of government guidelines, a 9-month-old boy was killed with an injection into the heart of potassium chloride.
"I cannot imagine that we can proceed to tolerate the killing of children who cannot defend themselves. Abortion is murder. It's their mute scream and I'm here present to express it. It's not actual that there's no another option than abortion. There are so many different options, adoption, the window of life, giving the kid to people who look forward to it, and if he is ill, then treatment and the area of peculiar care in the appropriate facilities due to the fact that they are. It hurts very much that parents did not let this kid live" - said Mrs. Alicja Lipska from Warsaw.
Both organizers and participants of the March drew attention to fresh attacks on life, family, marriage, which are mostly owned by the current government. The march was a sign of opposition to abortion, but besides an appeal to the rulers to respect the binding law resulting from the Constitution and its enforcement against the criminal activities of abortionists.
"Government abortion guidelines are the consent to illegal abortions in Polish hospitals practically to be given birth under the pretext of mediocre intellectual state of the mother, the hazard of diabetes, long marks or... caries" - said Magdalena Majkowska from the Ordo Iuris Institute.
During the event, the slogans of opposition to the planned indoctrination of children in Polish schools were besides raised in connection with the withdrawal by the Ministry of Education of education of upbringing into household life and the introduction of sexual education. Marginalization of spiritual lessons was besides opposed, ignoring the rights of parents, catechestes and against the applicable law.
Marcin Perłowski besides encouraged local marches, so that from hundreds of Polish towns there would be a voice for life, heard by Polish parliamentarians.
“The fact about the beginnings of human life must be heard, and from hundreds of Polish towns must flow so loudly that politicians from rural... Just as the National March of Life started local marches last year, so let it happen this year," he argued.
