PKW rejects 2 presidential candidates. The reason for this decision is shocking

The State Election Commission refused to registry 2 candidates in the presidential election. In their endorsement lists, thousands of signatures of people have been found... dead for years. The case could now go to the ultimate Court.

The signing of endorsements for presidential candidates officially ended on Friday 5 April at 4 p.m. By that date, they had time to deliver the required minimum of 100,000 signatures.

PKW started the verification process. A full of 17 candidates for the office of president were registered. However, on the lists of 2 candidates, the members of the committee found a serious problem. They were supported by... dead people for respective years.

PKW saw a 1000 signatures from dead people

The State Election Commission did not let the registration of David Jackievicz, the erstwhile Treasury Minister in the government of Beata Szydło, and Wiesław Lewicki, entrepreneur and president of the average Country party. The reason was a immense number of errors in the signatures.

In the case of Jackievicz, as many as 66 168 signatures were declared invalid. And although it seems unrealistic – 2,881 of these signatures came from people who have been dead for years.

"A crucial group of signatures deemed incorrect were the signatures of the deceased, frequently many years ago" – highlighted in the resolution of the PKW dated 9 April officially posted on the website.

In the case of Lewicki, 46,776 signatures with errors were disclosed on the endorsement list. Of these, 5,805 came from the dead. From the information provided in the PKW resolution, the candidate lacked little than 4,000 valid signatures to meet the requirement. The Commission has highlighted many errors, specified as discrepancies in names, PESEL numbers and the deficiency of voter signatures.

Both candidates may appeal the decision of the PKW and bring an action before the ultimate Court. "On this resolution, the electoral typical has the right to lodge a complaint with the ultimate Court within 2 days from the date of its publication to the public" - emphasised PKW.
