The legal loophole surrounding Volunteer Fire Department rescue dogs has been closed. The president has signed the bill.

On Thursday, president Karol Nawrocki signed an amendment to the Act on Volunteer Fire Departments, which is intended to regulate the position of rescue dogs serving in volunteer fire departments. “The state cannot leave an activity that has been a real part of the rescue strategy for years without a clear legal basis,” emphasized the Office of the President.
