The Silesian side, a picturesque locality in Lower Silesia, was again at the centre of attention. This time, however, it is not due to tourist assets, but due to the dramatic protest of the inhabitants. “We feel cheated, the measurement changed,” the participants chanted, symbolically beginning the non-existent temporary bridge, which was to be established by the end of 2024, as promised by the Marshals' Office.
The symbolic beginning of an invisible bridge
Several 100 people attended the Friday protest. Protesters, in an act of desperation and irony, organized the symbolic beginning of a bridge that is inactive missing.
"People enjoy, we have an invisible temporary bridge, on which the invisible marshal of the voivodship walks. We got him, we got him! Give me a circular of applause. Hip hip hurra," said residents, with bitterness laughing at the situation.
The president of the council of Kłodzki County, Zbigniew Łopusiewicz, took on the function of master of the ceremony, cutting the ribbon on a symbolic crossing. This act was a clear signal of frustration to the local community.
Record delays or bad management?
In November, the Marshal's Office announced that the temporary bridge would be built at a evidence rate. Marshal Paweł Gancarz promised that the investment would be completed before the end of 2024. However, residents uncertainty these declarations.
"The deaf set up a temporary bridge in 40 days, and we are waiting for 100. The measurement has changed. If you promise something, you keep your word. I realize that there are hard conditions, it is snowing, there may be delays, but then you go out to people and honestly explain why you slip," said 1 of the protesters in an interview with RMF FM.
Strategic bridge
No bridge is not just a symbolic problem. The crossing, which is within the provincial road, is crucial for the local population and the local economy. The road leads to 1 of the most crucial tourist resorts in the region – the Black Mountain.
“I rent cottages to tourists. Last night, the household didn't get to us until after 11:00 due to the fact that that's how they hit our roads. Tourists want to support us, they want to come to us to save any money for reconstruction, for bills, but they besides have their organic patience. No 1 wants to come for a remainder and wander," says Barbara Zielińska, a resident of the Silesian Party.
What does the investor say?
The Lower Silesian Road and Railway Service (DSDiK), liable for construction supervision, stated in the communication that work is ongoing, but no circumstantial reasons for hold were identified.
The construction engineer explained the situation with hard ground conditions:
“We were amazed by the ground conditions. We had to plan the foundations of the bridge practically again. We realized that this might change the work schedule, but for user safety we decided to extend the stakes on which the bridge would be based."
The population's frustration is increasing
The deficiency of transparency on the advancement of the work and the unfulfilled promises origin the frustration of the inhabitants of the Site to scope a critical point. The community demands concrete actions and explanations before patience turns into further protests.
