Immigration hypocrisy of COPIS

nlad.pl 1 year ago

The debate on Poland's immigration policy proves to be a festival of full hypocrisy from the Civic Platform and Law and Justice. Donald Tusk's group does not want to remember its actions towards officers guarding the Polish-Belarusian border, while Jarosław Kaczyński's party, after beginning Poland to mass immigration, again tries its rhetoric to mamitate right-wing voters.

The last weekend was marked by 2 immigrant events. The first was the arrival by German policemen of a household coming from the mediate East, which the officers from outside our western border left in 1 of the towns of the Zachodniopomorskie Voivodeship. The scandal ended with “an apology” from the German side, of course for the current ruling coalition completely settling the matter. The second was a photograph of a group of black immigrants who, after illegally crossing the border, sat at a bus halt in the village of Czerlonki in the area of Białowieża Podlaskie Voivodeship. Both of these situations became an introduction to the work of the PO and PiS for the mass presence of foreigners in Poland.

Which I don't want to remember.

After losing in last year's parliamentary elections, the Law and Justice again radicalized himself in the rhetorical sphere, abruptly recalling the critical attitude towards the European Union (telling against the “European Green Deal” previously praised by Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki) and migration policy. In the second aspect, the entry of the erstwhile Deputy abroad Minister Paweł Jabłoński on page X was symptomatic. Its main intent was to shed all work on the mass influx of foreigners on the government of “smiling Poland”, releasing Morawiecki's cabinet from it and almost 8 years of PiS migration policy.

In a collision with facts, the rhetoric of PiS is simply a brazen lie. Even under Morawiecki's rule, Poland has become the country that receives the most immigrants from the EU countries. In this respect, we became an absolute leader a fewer years ago, chasing even Germany or France. According to data published last September by the European Statistical Office, only in 2022 Poland issued over 700 1000 first residence permits to foreigners. It is worth noting that in 2021 the data were even more disturbing, due to the fact that at the time it was almost 967,000 permits.

Even more crushing for the Law and Justice are data on nationality of foreigners brought to Poland. Initially, it was claimed that people who are culturally close, i.e. from Ukraine and Belarus, were coming to us. In fresh years, however, the number of immigrants from Muslim countries and countries like India, Nepal or the Philippines has increased dramatically. Six years ago Jabłoński's colleague from the Ministry of abroad Affairs, Andrzej Papierz, went to Uzbekistan's Muslim-dominated country to search the arrival of local citizens.

They're not just working.

Politicians of the Law and Justice organization are frequently changing their rhetoric. From denial of mass immigration, they then shift to the position of defenders of "hard-working" and "legal immigrants". However, it is not very clear why specified persons should not origin problems. Could Kaczyński's party, along with its coalitions from Sovereign Poland, take a peculiar Marxist view of the world, according to which "being defines consciousness" and abruptly foreigners from completely different cultural regions will not origin trouble? Especially thanks to working in poorly paid jobs on the junk labour marketplace (we are in the EU tail in this respect)?

On the weekend there was another interesting case, very interesting in this context. In Gniezno, police were summoned to a riot in the city centre, during which a Colombian was wounded with a knife. This is not the first example of Latino crime. At the beginning of the year in Przechlew, Pomeranian Voivodeship, officers detained Venezuelans, Colombians and Georgians surviving in the region, who were to participate in a mass fight. Last November, in Tychy the feud between Colombians ended with the death of 1 of them. Each came here to work, and as you can see, even a tiny number of them make problems.

It is hard to talk about individual cases. The Police Headquarters, together with representatives of the Ministry of Interior and Administration, late consulted on the issue, as set out in the Communication, "the most crucial problem of Russian-speaking crime at present". According to the services, it will increase, due to the fact that in addition to common crime, there is an expanding number of cases of arms smuggling, trafficking in human beings and the formation of organised criminal groups. Are PiS Members able to explain this only by the activities of "illegal immigrants"?

Amnesia Platform

Prime Minister Donald Tusk, arguing with PiS politicians on Sunday, wrote that "hundreds of thousands of immigrants from Africa and Asia" were sent to Poland by erstwhile authority, as well as "Russian and Belarusian IT specialists", helping to build abroad agents". This time it is hard to disagree with the leader of the Platform, although as in his case it is not always true. Namely, the most frequently detained persons on charges of preparing acts of sabotage are Ukrainian citizens. In this respect, the Polish political class was shortsighted, which unconditionally opened the borders of our country for Ukrainians did not care that many of them inactive support Russia (a year before the outbreak of the war in polls in Ukraine was the leader of the pro-Russian opposition party).

Tusk is now creating himself as an orthodox even defender of the Polish border against illegal immigrants. Although the PO MPs had previously brought them pizza, and in the case of Franciszek Sterczewski they had embarrassing moving with border guards. Moreover, last week the nearest Polish-Belarusian border area again became a buffer region without access for outsiders. As the Liberal Batory Foundation noted, it was established on the basis of a change in the rules on the defence of the state border adopted 3 years ago under the PiS. Neither has anything changed in the case of a public consultation which, according to the said foundation, was "fascious".

However, it is not essential to place besides much religion in the extremist transformation of “smiling Poland”. As we know very well, services defending Polish territory against immigrants were banned from utilizing weapons, due to the fact that according to the Deputy Minister of National Defence Paweł Zalewski, they would “start shooting at immigrants.” A fewer days ago, however, the provisions provided for in the European Union's migration pact were revealed, requiring associate States to supply the foreigners sent under the mechanics of "must solidarity" social conditions at the western level. Looking at the current practice of the Tusk government, it is hard to anticipate him to keep his promises that no asylum seekers will be sent to Poland due to the admission of Ukrainian refugees.

Left Against Workers

Especially since fresh Left is completely different from the Platform. Minister of Family, Labour and Social Policy Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk said this week that Poland needs immigrants for work, and their number is to depend on the needs of entrepreneurs. The words of left-wing policies were the answer to the question of the EU relocation mechanism.

In addition to the message by Dziemianowicz-Bąk, the task prepared by the Ministry of improvement and Technology besides gives thought. The Chief Inspector of Labour expressed concern about the consequences of deregulation of economical and administrative law, due to the fact that according to the proposed changes, the entrepreneur would not commit a crime by hiring a foreigner who does not have a legal residence licence in Poland. Interestingly, according to the State Labour Inspectorate, the Government of Tusk, erstwhile adopting legal changes, would violate EU directives on combating illegal immigration.

Further maintaining mass immigration is dangerous for Polish workers. Not only due to the inhibition of wage increases and thus maintaining the position of Poland as a inexpensive assembly plant. In the face of the economical slowdown and the fresh plague of mass layoffs, foreigners will simply compete in the labour market. It is not essential to add that the difficulty of uncovering a job, especially of unremarkable conditions, will take Poland back to the times of the first regulation of Tusk and Platform.

Confederate lonely island

It's not the first time the Confederate has faced the full system. In particular, politicians of her national wings point to the negative effects of immigration. Certainly, the top influence is the activity of Deputy Marshal of the Sejm Krzysztof Bosak, who enjoys any of the top scope among politicians active in social media. The head of the National Movement already a year ago has warned that the PiS is bringing in mass Muslims to Poland, whose influx must be stopped unconditionally.

Even before the European Parliament elections, the Confederate spokesman, Ewa Zajączkowska-Hernik, pointed out the very crucial fact. The fresh Hope politician has abandoned the European Union's deliberate deficiency of action against the phenomenon of illegal immigration, although it has the right tools. This is most likely why Tusk is doing nothing about the Germans turning back immigrants, and his power tied hands with Polish services guarding the border.

It should be recalled that it was the Confederation that expressed the only coherent view of immigration issues by proposing a "Packet of liable migration policies". It calls for the introduction of limits to the admission of foreigners to the absolute minimum, the placing on safety through a policy of zero tolerance to the violation of the law by foreigners or the completion of inter-nationalisation of higher education institutions. The last 1 is peculiarly interesting, due to the fact that 1 of the themes of the alleged visa scandal concerns the registration of immigrants in Polish universities only in order to get a visa valid for residence in the European Union.

***

Unfortunately, the problem is not only hypocrisy from the 2 largest political parties. Despite the experience of Western countries, Polish society is very shortsighted and seems to believe that "hardworking and paying taxes" will not origin any problems. Problems with immigrants are associated by Poles with the effects of the 2015 migration crisis and the "coming after social" which is why it seems essential to place a greater emphasis on raising awareness of the consequences of German, French or British procurement. Otherwise, COPIS will change our country completely unrecognizable.
