

The Centre is simply a joint initiative of NATO and Ukraine. Its task is to support Ukraine's Armed Forces in seeking full interoperability with NATO troops, as well as exchanging experiences between Ukraine's Armed Forces and the North Atlantic Alliance.
As the Minister of National Defence Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz said during the beginning ceremony, the establishment of the first joint institution shows that "Ukraine is getting closer to NATO and becoming a strategical partner of our alliance".
— It's a two-way relationship. We frequently talk about helping Ukraine – about the actions of your alliance. But it is worth noting that we, too, can draw on the experience of war in Ukraine. War is always evil, but in this area of evil we request to see what can defend us from an even greater threat — the skills and experiences that will let all allies to strengthen their abilities,” said the head of the MON.

During the press conference, journalists asked the Deputy Prime Minister, whether Poland intends to send troops to Ukraine in the future. Kosiniak-Kamysz assured that "Poland has a different role".
— We do not plan to send Polish soldiers to Ukraine and do not prepare to send Polish soldiers to Ukraine. Poland has a different role, in our opinion it is simply a logistical safety and a large task to strengthen NATO's east flank,” explained the minister.
The beginning ceremony was besides attended by Deputy Secretary-General of NATO Radmila Shekerinska, the commander-in-chief of NATO's Allied Forces for Transformation (SACT) Admiral Pierre Vandier and Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine for European and Euro-Atlantic integration Olha Stefaniszin.
