The Germans responded to Nawrocki's request for reparations. They left no illusions

On the anniversary day at Westerplatte, president Karol Nawrocki again raised the issue of war reparations to Germany. His firm speech compressed the erstwhile legal and emotional impasse. Unfortunately, the German side made a definite refusal - which only deepened the animosity around this historical issue.
