For the first time, Democrats in the U.S. home of Representatives have overwhelmingly voted in favour of a proposal to halt aid to Israel altogether. The amendment lost the vote (the Republican organization has a majority in the House), but it revealed a profound shift in the party's approach to the longtime U.S. ally, the fresh York Times noted.
