The erstwhile president took refuge in the embassy, now he has fled the country

Former Panamanian president Ricardo Martinelli has been granted political asylum in Colombia. The politician has already left his country, ending respective months of sheltering in the Nicaraguan embassy. He was granted refuge there after a court sentenced Martinelli to 10 years in prison.
