The full affair broke out thanks to a text published by Virtual Poland. We could read in it that Deputy Minister of Justice Bartłomiej Ciążyński went on a household vacation to Slovenia utilizing a service limousine. Plus, he refueled twice, paying with a business card.
Initially, Ciążyński denied the allegations, claiming that he had the right to usage the vehicle besides for private purposes during his vacation and abroad, and that the refueling was paid for with his own funds. After a fewer hours, however, he admitted to utilizing a business car that was not his intended intent and apologized for his actions, explaining his deficiency of experience and ignorance. He promised to return the money.
The text of Virtual Poland is interesting, that journalists straight addressed the Deputy Minister with respective questions. He was no longer telling the fact about his departure. For example, Ciążyński, erstwhile asked about the usage of public funds to finance the journey to Slovenia, stated that the amount of fuel supplied in Poland would not be adequate to travel to Slovenia. erstwhile it was noted that a journey through the Czech Republic had to be financed by public funds, he asked for the conversation to be terminated.
Repentance and resignation
Following the disclosure of the scandal, Ciążyński organized a press conference at which he admitted to the mistake, apologized and reported that he had returned the funds. During the conference next to him, the leader of the Left, Vladimir Czarzasta, appeared, who stressed that the minister took work for his actions, and considered the case closed.
Today I resigned from the position of Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Justice – said Ciążyński podczsas conference. – erstwhile again, I apologize for the situation, and I thank Minister Bodnar and the full ministry for these fewer weeks of joint, good, consistent work. I thank Marshal Czarzaste and my organization for recommending me for this position.
Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced laconically on the X portal that he accepted Ciążyński's resignation.
