Democratic Convention – End of Honey period Harris?

The Democratic organization Convention brought the sealing of the candidacy of Harris, the demonstration of the unity of Democrats around its denomination, and the adoption of the party's programming platform. At the same time, it culminated in a fewer weeks of Harris' freshness, being the other of her candidate, and building a affirmative message to voters, she managed to make up for Joe Biden's polling failure to D. Trump, and in many studies even overtake the competitor – both nationally and in key states [1]. The convention is the beginning of a appropriate electoral campaign, during which Harris will gotta face hard questions about programming issues, his achievements from the vice presidency period, as well as to appear in tv debates and give interviews to the media.

The convention lasted 4 days, and in its course there were persons representing different viewpoints, which was a crucial difference compared to the July Republican convention, dominated by individuals close to Donald Trump and the MEGA environment. The democrats came, above all, to president Joe Biden and First woman Jill Biden, erstwhile Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton, erstwhile First woman Michelle Obama and Hillary Clinton, and erstwhile talker of the Nancy Pelosi home of Representatives. On the another hand, a number of mid-format politicians appeared, specified as Governors JB Pritzker (Illinois), Josh Shapiro (Pensylvania) and Gretchen Whitmer (Michigan), as well as many senators. From the 3rd left wing politicians like Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren or Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. In addition, respective erstwhile and current Republicans were invited who are opponents of D. Trump (Adam Kinzinger, a longtime Republican congressman from Illinois, Geoff Duncan, Georgia State Vice politician from 2019 to 1923, Stephanie Grisham, White home spokesperson from 2019 to 2020) [2].

The most crucial point of the convention was Harris' Thursday speech. It was the first chance for her to tell the Americans the communicative of her life – the current vice president presented herself as a middle-class native, close to the problems of average people as opposed to D. Trump. She again assured that building the mediate class would be the mark of defining her presidency and announced a taxation simplification for over 100 million Americans. She paid quite a few attention to almost having an abortion. She referred to Biden’s frequently highlighted clashes between democracy and tyranny, including herself in the first camp, and her countercandidate to the second. She portrayed Trump as a threat and embodiment of retrograde. She assured that she would search to keep the US military primacy in the world, win in competition with China, relations with NATO allies, aid to Ukraine and bring peace between Israel and Palestinians [3].

Some of the demands he proposed by Harris during the convention appeared in a speech already made by the current vice president on 16 August in North Carolina. Harris presented at the time a set of proposals in the area of the economy, including: building an "opportunity economy", in which everyone has equal opportunities, developing the mediate class, eliminating poverty, building 3 million housing, $25,000 support for those wishing to acquisition their first place of residence, introducing a national ban on practice called "price gouging" (unreasonably raising product prices) in the food sector, or implementing taxation credits for the mediate class, which are intended to cover more than 100 million Americans [4]. On another occasion run spokesperson Harris James vocalist reported that Democratic candidate supports Joe Biden's thought of raising corporate income taxation from 21% to 28% [5].

Trump's control and the clash of economical visions

Despite the announcement of 8 August of a halt with an intense run to the conclusion of the politician convention [6] Donald Trump had already started a political counteroffensive a fewer days later: on 12 August he gave a long interview to Elon Musk (whose tone, however, partially overshadowed method problems [7]), and then announced on 14 August in North Carolina the outline of his economical agenda, informing about 2 days Kamala Harris. In his speech, he announced, among others, the fight against the effects of inflation, the elimination of pensions and tipping taxes, the extension of the taxation reductions introduced in 2017 and the simplification of public debt (two excluded demands) or the halving of fuel and energy prices within a maximum of 18 months, mainly by importantly expanding fossil fuel extraction in the US [8].

Campaigning the economy is all the more crucial for Trump that polls have late appeared in which Harris enjoys akin or greater assurance than his competitor in economical matters [9]. In erstwhile months, Joe Biden clearly stepped down to Trump in this field. erstwhile president tries to present economical proposals Harris as embodiment of communist reasoning [10), which is simply a dense charge in the U.S. realities, and points out that his efforts to lower prices will be "capitalistic alternatively than communist" [11]. However, narration in matters applicable to voters Trump undermines very frequent and violent personnel attacks on Harris and another democrats, which he does not intend to give up, contrary to the recommendations of his staff [12].

Trump one more time cut off the task 2025 initiative – prepared by the influential conservative think-tank The Heritage Foundation (in cooperation with over 100 organizations with a akin profile) of the programming agenda for the new, conservative presidential administration, supplemented by extended recruitment of staff. The initiative is criticised for its utmost right-wing nature, manifested, for example, in the demands of crucial strengthening of presidential power, mass staff exchanges in national administration (a fight against so-called. Deep State), the liquidation of the Department of interior safety (DHS), crucial changes in the functioning of the Justice Department and the FBI, as well as restrictions on national support for green transformation and access to legal abortion and the fight against left-wing ideology. Among the authors of the task are many officials of the erstwhile Trump administration, which makes cutting him off from the initiative seen as not credible [13]. Democrats are eager to attack the erstwhile president by associating him in the eyes of voters from task 2025, and it should be considered that even if he did not constitute the authoritative programme of the possible second Trump presidency, an crucial part of him could look forward to being implemented.

A tiny support for Trump may prove to be by handing over his support to an independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who announced the suspension of his presidential run on August 23. Although Kennedy, boy of Robert F. Kennedy, erstwhile U.S. lawyer General, and nephew of president John F. Kennedy, derives from the Democratic community, his views are anti-systemic, utmost or even conspiracious in many areas, and thus closer to Donald Trump's views. On the 1 hand, it is expected that more Kennedy voters will support Trump than Harris, but on the another hand, Democrats will find it easier to establish in voters the belief that Trump is the embodiment of trends and views considered utmost and dangerous by many [14].

Conclusion

The last 2 weeks of the run were intense from both candidates. Donald Trump, despite earlier announcements, decided to decision on to political counteroffensive before the Democratic convention. However, its effects are limited due to the continued freshness effect of Harris, media favour for the Democratic candidate and its affirmative communicative for Americans, whose Trump opposes not only its own programming concept, but besides many personnel attacks on Harris made against the recommendations of the Republican candidate's election staff. Their simplification and focus on building their own affirmative imagination for voters will depend on reversing the current negative trend in polls. On the another hand, Harris will gotta deal with media speeches (interviews and debates) in the coming weeks, which are not her strong side, as well as questions about her achievements as vice president and election programme.
