Rafał Trzaskowski one more time refused to participate in the debate organised by the tv Republic, as PiS MP Janusz Kowalski calls it "a coward effect". Can the deficiency of confrontation with competitors affect the result of the elections?
"A coward's effect" – why does Trzaskowski avoid the debate?
In conversation with Doraczy.pl associate Janusz Kowalski there is no uncertainty – Rafał Trzaskowski consistently avoids confrontation with another candidates.
– Here we are dealing with the classical "fair effect". Rafał Trzaskowski entered Bronisław Komorowski's shoes and late built his image as a policy of avoiding confrontation – judges Kowalski.
The PiS politician emphasizes that it is hard to imagine a future president who is afraid to stand up for debate. – It is hard to imagine that a politician who wants to fight for Polish interests is afraid to stand up for debate with another candidates in tv Republic. Trzaskowski has already refused to participate twice – reminds me.
Record ratings – will the Republic find the result of the election?
The last debate on tv Republic attracted to the screen even 2.5 million viewerswhich shows large public interest. Kowalski has no doubt:
– It can be argued that the debate before the second round, if organised by tv Republic 1 week before the decision of 1 June, may find the result of the presidential election. If Trzaskowski doesn't show up, he'll lose to the mole.
According to Mr PiS, the deficiency of participation in the debate only perpetuates the negative image of the candidate KO. – The cowardice seems to have a DNA record. He can't debate, he can't exchange arguments if he's not in greenhouse conditions – whether it's for sale on TVN or TVP in liquidation – says Kowalski.
What changed in the polls after the debate?
Kowalski points to respective key effects of the last debate:
- Increased support for Karol Nawrocki – the candidate presented himself as a politician with a "clear presidential format", effectively scoring both the absent Trzaskowski and Simon Holovnia.
- Inhibition of growth in support of Holownia – in this competition he did better Sławomir Mentzenwho besides criticized Trzaskowski.
- The Fall of the Post-Communist Left – According to Kowalski, the formation of Włodzimierz Czarzasty with Magdalena Biejat “goes distant into political non-existence”, and Adrian Zandberg can take over the dominant function in the left niche.
- Media failure TVN – tv Republic took the initiative while TVN, as Kowalski claims, was withdrawn from sales due to the failure of marketplace leader position.
Financing the KO run under scrutiny – is it facing the destiny of the PiS?
Another subject raised in the discussion is the issue of run financing Civil Coalition. Kowalski says Law and Justice will study to the PCW on the debate in Koński.
– If this was a debate organised by Rafał Trzaskowski's staff, why did journalists from Polsat or TVN participate? Who paid them? – asks the PiS MP.
The politician suggests that there may have been irregularities: – If, on the another hand, this was a debate prepared by TVP in liquidation, there is simply a serious question whether there was no illegal financing of the Trzask run from public funds.
Kowalski says the case will not be swept under the carpet. – This case will not be swept under the carpet. It'll be explained. In my opinion, there will be grounds for prosecution charges.
Summary: Can Trzaskowski inactive regain his initiative?
According to Kowalski, Last chance. for Trzaskowski to improve his image would be a debate in tv Republic. If the K.O. candidate doesn't decide on it, it can seal his defeat.
