Let us remind that Maciej "Slab" Krakowian died as a consequence of an airplane accident, which took place on 28 August in the evening in Radom, during training for Air Show shows. The F-16 fighter crashed and went up in flames. Major didn't have time to eject from the machine.

Maciej "Slab" Krakowian was an experienced pilot and teacher 31. Tactical Aviation Base in Poznań-Krzesinach and associate of the elite squad Tiger Demo Team, representing Poland during air shows in Europe.

As stated by "Fakt", his nickname "Slab" derives from the English phrase "sounds like a bomb" – meaning "sounds like a bomb". This is simply a mention to the characteristic, whistling sound of F-16 engines, resembling the bang of falling missiles.
