And this is simply a puzzle from a sensational film, utilizing – consciously! – the appropriate methods of it: covering tracks, confusion of leads, disguises and camouflage. Like in the classical suspens, we don't know who's who or even who he claims to be. It's not just expected to be, but that's the full point of his existence.
The non-explaining of secrets is due to the fact that the movie in this form could have been created, satisfied by political decision-makers, and simultaneously delight and authentically charm viewers; to be ideologically correct from the point of view of the communist orthodoxy that prevailed at the time, and at the same time to constitute a salvation in it for the watchers of the tear, that is to combine the fire of the russian tank with the water consecrated. The minutes of meetings and the Kloss conference quoted in the fresh book show that he was an agent of russian intelligence for decision-makers without any doubt, which was adequate calming for them.
When approving the episode of "Café Rose" in which Kloss goes to Istanbul, it was doubted whether the opposition could afford to send agents to places so far away, but this remark was withdrawn with shame immediately after explaining that he was "a powerful russian intelligence agent". The additional nonsense of this exchange is that Klossa was sent there by his German commander, but not by the demands of the Communist agent. The main task Kloss had towards the Polish viewer was, naturally, to hide this provenance from him. The Polish viewer could not have guessed it – and Kloss did it! You know who he was spying for, but he couldn't even uncover it in torture under the threat of embarrassment. Moreover, even his powers agreed.
