Reduction of contributions but not for all
Ryszard Petru reported on platform X that the agreement on reducing the wellness contribution is close. According to his concept, the simplification would concern entrepreneurs first and workers would benefit only if the deficit in the public finance sector fell below 3% of GDP, which would be around 2027. Petru considered it a reasonable compromise.
Paulina Matysiak disagreed with this idea. The messenger made a mockery of Petru's entry. As she noted, “she translated his tweet into Polish”.
We can't afford to cut everyone's contribution. Therefore, in our infinite wisdom, we decided to lower it only to those who already pay little (4.9% alternatively of 9%) and at the same time gain the most. It's the only way we can last these hard times. For those who have little will surely realize and appreciate our concern for those who have the most. After all, it's the most fair and liable solution, isn't it? We ask for knowing and support at this hard moment.
No confirmation
The Ministry of Finance denies Richard Petr's reports of reaching a compromise on the wellness contribution. KO politicians claim that Petru is acting in his own favour by putting public force on the government.
On his return from leave, Szymon Hołownia one more time sparked a discussion about the contribution, stating that "the contribution does not heal but kills Polish companies", which sparked controversy. His message was criticized by representatives of the Left who accused him of being irresponsible and weakening assurance in state institutions. Hołownia and the leader of PSL Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz previously stressed that lowering the contribution is crucial for the functioning of the 3rd Way in the coalition.
KO politicians feel that Petru is acting in his own interest and does not aid by putting public force on the government. wellness premium talks are underway and each of the 4 coalition parties has made their own proposals. Minister Domanski is to propose a compromise solution.
