

The president of Russia announced that the Easter truce would start at 17 p.m. Polish time and last for 30 hours. “The consequence to the Easter truce will show how sincere Kiev’s ability and willingness to participate in peace talks are,” stated the Russian president.
After 18 o'clock, Polish Andrij Kułenko said that the Russians proceed to fire in all directions.

A communication on the Easter truce was besides issued by the Russian Ministry of Defence. "On the eve of Easter, all group commanders in the peculiar Military Operations region were ordered to hold fire from 18:00 Moscow time on April 19 to 00:00 Moscow time on April 21," reported the Russian Ministry of Defence.
"The ceasefire was introduced for humanitarian purposes and will be respected by a joint group of Russian troops, provided it is mutually respected by the government in Kiev", the Russian MON reserves.
This is the second ceasefire during the war in Ukraine. The first of them was announced in 2023 for Christmas – from 12.00 Moscow time 6 January to 24.00 Moscow time 7 January. It was not possible to halt the fighting, and Kiev and Moscow held each another accountable for specified a situation.
