Trump's gathering with Putin in Alaska
As we wrote on Temat.pl, on Wednesday Trump held a video conference with European leaders, including Volodymyr Zelenski. The president of Ukraine reported that they had established "five common rules" for negotiations before Friday's meeting, as quoted by CNN station:
all cases concerning Ukraine must be dealt with exclusively with Ukraine,
a tripartite format should be prepared,
there must be a ceasefire,
there must be safety guarantees – truly reliable,
Russia cannot have a veto on Ukraine's membership of the EU and NATO.
Mr Zelenski stressed that peace talks had to be combined with force on Moscow, including the tightening of sanctions in the event of a ceasefire. He besides expressed hope that the ceasefire would be a "central topic" of Friday's conversation between Putin and Trump.
