Karol Nawrocki, a presidential candidate supported by the Law and Justice is seeking voters' votes to let him to enter the second round. He is counting on the support of the current president to aid him. Andrzej Duda took Nawrocki on board his plane a fewer days ago, which he travelled to Toruń for a ceremony commemorating Poles saving Jews.
What relation does Duda and Nawrocki have?
Andrzej Duda expressed his opinion on Nawrocki shortly after he was announced as a presidential candidate. “Charles Nawrocki as a presidential candidate proclaims specified ideas and himself has specified ideals that are close to my heart,” said Duda.
Karol Nawrocki says in turn that he is in constant contact with Duda. “I feel the President’s support. Not all of our meetings are reported on social media, but we talk regularly. In many statements the president emphasized that Poland needs a leader for whom our history, identity and our heritage are important," he told “Super Express”.
What do we know about the presidential election?
The State Election Commission has so far registered 44 election committees for presidential candidates; 9 notifications of the establishment of the committee have been rejected. The Commission has besides registered 7 presidential candidates so far.
The time for registration of the candidate expires on 4 April (Friday) at 16 p.m. To registry a candidate by PKW, it is essential to collect a minimum of 100 1000 signatures with support for it. The presidential election will take place on May 18. Any second circular will be held on 1 June.
