The American defence 1 portal revealed an unpublished, longer version of the US National safety Strategy. The paper proposes to draw Poland, Austria, Hungary and Italy distant from the European Union and to make a fresh format for global cooperation "Core 5", in which the EU would not be included. This contrasts with the authoritative strategy published on Friday, which focuses on strategical stableness with Russia and the prevention of further NATO expansion.

Defense One, a U.S. safety portal founded in 2013, reached the extended version of Trump administration's strategical document. According to the portal, the strategy besides proposes fresh ways of leading internationally and a different approach to influencing the future of Europe.

Plan to draw countries distant from the EU

The unpublished version of the strategy specifically mentions Poland, Austria, Hungary and Italy as countries with which the US “should work more closely to draw them distant from the European Union”. The paper advocates: «We should support parties, movements and intellectuals and cultural activists aiming to sovereignty and preserve/restore the conventional European lifestyle».

The strategy besides proposes the creation of a "Core 5" format (C5), consisting of the US, China, Russia, India and Japan. This format would address safety in the mediate East. The European Union and its associate States would be excluded from this agreement.

The end of America's function as "Atlas"

The authoritative strategy, published on Friday, explicitly declares: «The time has passed erstwhile the United States has maintained the full planet order like Atlas». The paper rejects the concept of global US dominance and speaks of a «force balance».

The strategy expects rich, modern states to take “main work for safety in their regions”. The paper besides criticises Europe, pointing out that “mass migration” “changes the continent and creates conflicts”.

European reactions

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz described on Tuesday 9 December parts of the American strategy as “unacceptable”. Merz began talks with Paris on the French atomic arsenal for European safety and stated: «Europe, and so Germany, must become much more independent of the US in defence matters».

EU Defence Commissioner Andrius Kubilius, erstwhile Lithuanian Prime Minister, said in an interview with POLITICO at the end of November: «The question is whether we request additional safety warrant mechanisms and fresh organization solutions to be prepared for a situation where Article 5 would abruptly not be implemented». However, he added: «Although, of course, we should always presume its validity».

Warnings for Poland

Former abroad Minister Jacek Czaputowicz warns that the fresh American strategy will be detrimental to Poland. It foresees that the US will search cooperation with Russia, which can force European countries to accept specified an agreement.

Czaputowicz criticises the current Polish abroad policy, claiming that Minister Radosław Sikorski is "unnecessarily so anti-Russian", and president Karol Nawrocki acts against Ukrainian interests, refusing to visit Kiev.

The EU is presently investigating fresh European safety mechanisms, including the "coal of the willing" (UK, France, Germany) to take decisions on Ukraine and to strengthen NATO's "European pillar".
