Taiwan for the first time with American military aid to sovereign states

On Tuesday, the State Department informed legislature of a US$80 million package of aid to Taiwan. Compared to a much larger tranche, approved in July (345 million dollars), Washington's latest military aid to Taipei is the first case in which it will be delivered straight utilizing the FMF program. This strategy usually serves to lend or grant sovereign governments.
