“The school is to be a place of cognition transfer, but besides a place of education. It is essential to form the right consciences and mature attitudes" – said Fr Józef Guzdek during the Holy Mass at the Białystok Archaeister for the start of the school year 2026/2027.
The Whitestock Metropolitan recalled the peculiar work of parents, teachers and educators for shaping the young generation.
In his homily, Rev. Archbishop Joseph Guzdek referred to the words of the Gospel according to St Luke: “Jesus came to Nazareth, where he grew up.” As he noted, before Christ began his public ministry, he grew in a household home, where his attitude, character, and conscience developed.
The Metropolitan pointed to Mary and Joseph. In the home of the carpenter Jesus learned the value of honest work, and from his parent learned sensitivity to the needs of another man. His parents besides cared about his spiritual education, leading him to the temple and teaching life in the presence of God.
