The head of the National safety Bureau Bartosz Grodecki criticised the decision of the Lviv Circuit Council to 2027 be the year of UPA and Roman Szuchewycz. He stressed that "Poland constantly provides support to Ukraine", but "this must not mean silence towards glorifying perpetrators of crimes in Poles".

Head of BBN Bartosz Grodecki noted that the decision of the Ukrainian side coincided with the presentation by the IPN of the results of the search and exhumation work of the victims of genocide committed in Poles by Ukrainian nationalists during planet War II.

"On the same day, the Lviv Circuit Council declared the year 2027 UPA and Roman Szuchewycz. This is another example of actions that remind Poles and harm bilateral relations. The Volynsk crime remains an unparalleled wound in the hearts of Poles" – wrote the head of BBN on platform X.

"It is so hard to conclude that the peripheral authorities did not foresee how strong the emotion in Poland would trigger this decision. Poland continuously provides support to Ukraine fighting Russian aggression. However, this must not mean silence towards glorifying perpetrators of crimes in Poles. The memory of the victims is not and will not be the subject of political calculations," added Bartosz Grodecki.
